Troubleshooting

The following information will help you resolve common faults and malfunctions of the MEISTERSTÜCK 3.

ℹ Before troubleshooting, check the power supply, the network connection, all connected cables and external devices.

Device cannot be switched on

No power supply
  • Check the power supply, for example the circuit fuse.
  • Make sure that the power cable is correctly connected to the device and the power outlet.
  • If necessary, test the power outlet with another device.

Device does not respond

Temporary system error
  • Disconnect the device from the power supply for a few seconds.
  • Then reconnect the device and switch it on.

Device automatically switches to standby mode

Sleep timer is activated
  • Switch the device on again.
  • Restart playback.
  • Check the sleep timer settings.
Inactivity standby is active
  • The device was not used for the configured period and was automatically switched to standby mode.
  • Switch the device on again.
  • Restart playback.

Poor sound quality

Interference from other radio transmitters or electronic devices
  • Increase the distance from other electronic devices.
  • If necessary, change the position of the MEISTERSTÜCK 3.
Interference during HDMI playback
  • Use a high-quality, adequately shielded HDMI cable.
  • Check the connections on the device and TV.
Unsuitable sound settings
  • Check Bass, Treble, Adaptive Loudness and Dynamic Bass.
  • For testing, reset the sound settings to neutral values.

Remote control does not respond or responds incorrectly

Distance from device is too great
  • Reduce the distance between the remote control and the device.
  • Point the remote control at the receiver on the device.
Batteries are depleted
  • Replace the remote control batteries.
  • Observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries.
Signal path is blocked
  • Remove objects between the remote control and the device.

No connection to the Wi-Fi network

Router is too far away or shielded
  • Make sure that the router is not shielded.
  • Position the device closer to the router.
  • If necessary, adjust the orientation of the Wi-Fi antennas.
Router is switched off or not functioning correctly
  • Switch on the router.
  • Check the router status and Internet connection.
  • Restart the router if necessary.
Incorrect setup procedure
  • Check the setup procedure used.
  • If you use WPS, make sure that the router supports WPS.
  • Repeat the connection process.

No sound

Sound is muted or volume is too low
  • Disable mute.
  • Increase the volume.
Incorrect playback source selected
  • Select the desired playback source.
Headphones are connected
  • Disconnect the headphones if playback is to use the integrated speakers.
No FM / DAB+ reception
  • Adjust the FM/DAB antenna.
  • If necessary, start a new station scan.
No network connection
  • Check the network connection.
No sound via the optical or coaxial input
  • Check the cable connection.
  • Select PCM as the audio output format on the external device.
No sound via HDMI
  • Use the HDMI port on the TV marked ARC or eARC.
  • Select PCM as the audio output format on the TV.
  • Check the HDMI cable and the TV HDMI settings.

No sound via Optical

Incorrect audio format
  • Select PCM as the audio output format on the external device.
Optical cable not connected correctly
  • Check the plug connections.
  • Check the optical cable for damage.

No sound via Coaxial

Incorrect audio format
  • Select PCM as the audio output format on the external device.
Coaxial cable not connected correctly
  • Check the plug connections.
  • Check the cable used.

No sound via HDMI

Incorrect HDMI port on the TV
  • Use the TV HDMI socket marked ARC or eARC.
Incorrect audio format
  • Select PCM as the audio output format on the TV.
HDMI cable faulty or unsuitable
  • Check the plug connections.
  • Use a high-quality HDMI cable.

CD playback does not start

CD format is not supported
  • Make sure that the CD uses a supported audio or data format.
CD is dirty
  • Carefully clean the CD.
CD is damaged
  • Use a different CD.

Internet radio sometimes does not work

Station supports only a limited number of listeners
  • Try again later.
Radio station is currently not broadcasting
  • Try again later.
Internet connection is interrupted
  • Check the network and Internet connection.

Internet radio station disappears from the station list

Station is currently unavailable
  • A station may be removed from the list if it is no longer broadcasting or is temporarily unavailable.
  • Try again later.
  • When the station becomes available again, it may reappear in the station list.

USB device does not work

Playback format or file system is not supported
  • Check the files on the USB device.
  • Check the file system used.
Hidden or problematic files on the USB device
  • If necessary, remove hidden or unnecessary files from the USB device.
  • Then reconnect the USB device.

USB device does not charge

No connection to the USB device
  • Check the USB cable.
  • Reconnect the cable.
  • If necessary, try another compatible USB cable.

Bluetooth connection does not work

Bluetooth is already connected to another device
  • Disconnect the existing Bluetooth connection.
  • Then restart the connection process.
Problem with the Bluetooth device
  • Switch Bluetooth off and back on on the external device.
  • Restart the external device if necessary.
Bluetooth device does not support the required profile
  • Check the Bluetooth specifications and configuration of the external device.
Bluetooth device is out of range
  • Reduce the distance between the devices.
  • Avoid obstacles between the devices.
Pairing failed
  • Remove the MEISTERSTÜCK 3 entry from the Bluetooth list on the external device.
  • Restart the pairing process.

Streaming service does not work

No Internet connection
  • Check the network and Internet connection.
Streaming service temporarily unavailable
  • Try again later.
  • If necessary, check the app or website of the respective streaming provider.
User account or subscription
  • Check that you are signed in with the correct user account.
  • Check whether an active subscription is required for the desired function.

Use factory settings only as a last resort.
Resetting to factory settings deletes saved device settings and configurations. These may include network, sound and smart home settings.

If a fault cannot be resolved using the measures described, restart the device first. Only perform a factory reset if other measures are unsuccessful.

If a smart home integration is in place, after a reset the device may need to be set up and assigned again in the smart home system.
