Replacing the stylus

A worn stylus reduces sound quality and may damage records. Replace it after approximately 1,000 hours of playback with a suitable replacement stylus for Ortofon 2M Red / 2M Blue. Also follow the replacement stylus instructions.

Removing the stylus

1. Leave the stylus guard fitted.
2. Detach the headshell from the tonearm.
3. Hold the cartridge in one hand. With the thumb and forefinger of your other hand, hold the stylus's plastic housing and pull it out of the cartridge.

Fitting a new stylus

1. Carefully slide the replacement stylus into the cartridge from the front.
2. Make sure it is fully inserted into the cartridge.
3. Refit the headshell to the tonearm.
